Good to know
How to use URL encoder
Convert text into an encoded URL component or turn percent-encoded text back into readable characters. This is useful when preparing individual query-string values.
- Paste text or a percent-encoded component into the input.
- Choose Encode or Decode and inspect the result.
- Copy the output, or move it back to the input for the reverse conversion.
Common questions
Should I encode an entire website URL?
This tool encodes a component using encodeURIComponent. Use it for individual path or query values; encoding an entire URL also encodes its separators.
Why does decoding keep plus signs?
A literal plus sign is preserved. Form-style conversion from plus to space is not applied.
Why does decoding report an error?
Malformed percent sequences or invalid Unicode cannot be decoded. Check the input for incomplete escapes such as a percent sign without two hexadecimal digits.
