Common questions
Do character counts include spaces?
Yes. Characters include spaces and line breaks and are counted as Unicode code points.
How are paragraphs and reading time calculated?
Blank lines separate paragraphs. Reading time is estimated at 200 words per minute and rounded up to a whole minute.
Why might another word counter give a different count?
Word boundaries vary with language and punctuation. This tool uses the browser’s language-aware word segmentation when available.
